VIRTUAL STAMP EXHIBIT 2020

PHILATELIC EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS

  1. This exhibition is open to all individual collectors. Exhibits must be related to Germany or German Areas.  Exhibits may be entered in any one of four classes: Open, Youth, Single Frame, and, by invitation, Non-competitive. No exhibit may be larger than ten (10) frames.
  2. Competitive exhibits will be judged by a panel of at least two APS accredited judges whose decisions will be final. Each exhibit will be judged on its own merits. Competitive exhibits will be judged based on nine GPS levels of award (large gold, gold, large vermeil, vermeil, large silver, silver, silver-bronze, bronze, and certificate). A Grand Award and a Reserve Grand Award will be given to the best exhibits in the open class. Grand awards will be given to the best exhibits in the single frame and youth classes. Appropriate special awards may be presented at the discretion of the Society and the Jury. The current APS Manual of Philatelic Judging and Exhibiting, Seventh Edition, will be used. While this is not a World Series of Philately  exhibition, the judges have been asked to judge in accordance with WSP standards.
  3. All exhibits in the competition for the awards must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor. Exhibits with dual ownership are only eligible if the individuals are husband and wife or parent and child. Material with corporate ownership may only be entered noncompetitively.
  4. An exhibit which has been purchased intact may not be exhibited at a nationally accredited exhibition for two years from the date of purchase unless the exhibit has been substantially altered by the addition of new material or new text.
  5. The Exhibits Committee reserves the right to refuse part or all of any exhibit.
  6. Each virtual frame will hold sixteen pages.  Each page should be individually scanned and formatted as a jpeg file.  Each page should be labelled with the keyword designated by the exhibitor followed by frame number and page number in frame and then overall page number.  For example, John Smith, has entered a one frame exhibit on Germania and his first page will be Germania-01-01-001.jpeg. If an exhibitor is using non-standard sized pages then they should contact the committee to make arrangements for proper display of exhibit.
  7. An Entry Form for each exhibit, and the uploaded files must be received  BEFORE September 14, 2020 or until our maximum number of exhibits is reached. We are requesting a donation of $5.00 per frame (GPS Members) or $10.00 per frame (Non-GPS Members) to participate in this Virtual Stamp Show. Membership made at the same time of entry will be charged at the membership price.
  8. Each exhibit and required synopsis should be submitted to the committee through use of email or through online submission process designed by the committee.  Exhibits will be displayed on the Virtual Stamp Exhibit once uploaded.
  9. Exhibitors are restricted to a maximum of two competitive multi-frame exhibits of not more than ten 16-page frames and a maximum of four one–frame exhibits. A separate form must be submitted for each entry.
  10. The signing of the Entry Forms by the exhibitor shall signify the acceptance of these regulations and the following release: I agree that the decision of the judges shall be final, and hereby release and agree to hold harmless the judges and the Germany Philatelic Society, its officers, directors, employees, and representatives from any damages, including but not limited to damages to my reputation or that of my exhibit, suffered or incurred as a result of the judging.
